Main story of Prophet Muhammed

Started in modern-day Saudi Arabia. Islam literally means submission to god. Founder of Islam, Muhammed, was born into Mecca and would be deeply fond of religion. He would pray in a cave for hours until he was visited by the angel Jibriel, announcing the news that he is now gods messenger.

Muhammed took these revelations and wrote them down in a book called Quran. The followers of this religion were beaten up brutally and would seek refugee in the city of “Medina”. Muhammed went there and destroyed all of the idols the people of Saudi Arabia were praying to, establishing islam as the main faith. Muhammed would then die after.

There are two branches of Islam: Sunni and Shia.
