The foundation of religion that is known as Judaism

Judaism is about following as close to the principles of God as possible. The commandments try to accurately guess what would be a wrong or positive action. Followers of this religion are called Jews, and they pray in synagogues.
    Jewish beliefs are:
  1. Tanakah: Torah, Prophets, and Writings.
  2. G-d: creator of the universe
  3. Tzedakah: charity
  4. Messiah: saviour of Jews
  5. Talmud: various interpretations of the Torah

The Tanakah main story

God told Abraham that he should move to Canaan from Mesopotamia, territory of modern-day Israel. He promises Abraham that he will create a great nation for his descendants. Children from Canaan or Israel would be enslaved to Egypt for brutal slave labour. Moses, with God's guidance, will free these slaves and bring them back into Canaan.

Moses would come to Egypt's pharaoh and tell him he should free the slaves. The pharaoh rejected this and Moses plagued Egypt with the Ten Plagues that devastated Egyptian authority and life. Pharaoh would give in after the tenth plague, setting free the Israelite slaves, where their journey back to Canaan (called the Exodus) would begin with Moses and God. They would reach the Sinai mountains and Moses would give the 613 commandments on Jewish law. The story would end once the Israelites return back home.

Israel got its name from Jacob, who wrestled with God
